I've been an avid knitter and third generation seamstress for over 30 years. As a young girl, I learned to sew at my Mother's knee and have gone full range from clothing to bedspreads and draperies to trapunto whitework which I sold at various fairs.
After raising my daughter, my husband and I stepped back to a more comfortable lifestyle...we bought a small farm & alpacas...and my life hasn't been the same since.
With the fiber (lots and lots of fiber) came the return of my needle arts. The knitting resurfaced and, of course, the sewing. It was natural that I begin to create beautiful bags that all knitters could love. I searched the marketplace for only the finest of materials... I found a local woodworker to lovingly craft each wooden handle ... I began to shape beautiful ceramic buttons at a local studio ... and I solved the problem that folks have with large bags - the saggy, baggy bottoms.
The result is the TikaBag.
Our little farm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains serves to ground us to what is important in life... home, family and a love for one's livelihood.
We strive to embody that spirit into each and every bag we lovingly create with our own hands.
We sincerely wish that these products enrich your lives as they have ours.
